We don’t know exactly what the future holds, however, we do feel that God has kindled a humble desire within us to either plant a church or lead an existing established church.  Although my heart is still with students, God has begun to shift the mold in which he is calling me to serve.  In light of this calling, we believe additional schooling would best prepare me for where God is leading us.  Therefore, in order to follow God’s leading I will be terminating my employment at West Park as of June 30, 2012.

Please know that this does not come in any way as a sign of disagreement with the direction that our Council of Elders or our church are heading.  We both have been very excited to see the progress that has been made in the past five months.  It saddens us that God is calling us away from West Park at such a transitional time as we firmly believe that God has some great things in store.

I would like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for your investment into my life.  My time here at West Park has been positive, and I leave on great terms.  I count it a blessing and privilege to have had this opportunity to serve along side of you as one of your pastors.  You will continue to be in our prayers as we are excited to see West Park move forward in God’s leading and direction.  God is at work in this church, and we firmly believe that West Park is doing a great job at fulfilling its mission.

It has been a joy to work with the students at West Park.  We both hold a deep love and admiration for all the students.  It makes us sad that God is calling us away from them, however, we trust that as he is calling us away, he is also raising up another person to lead them.  The students at West Park have taught me a lot over the years, and I believe that the Holy Spirit is moving within this generation, raising up leaders who will by God’s grace and power influence our world.

If I could ask, please keep us in your prayers as this is a big transition for our family.  There are still some details within this transition to Columbia that remain uncertain, however, we are walking in faith and trusting in God, knowing that we need to be obedient even when it means doing something as tough as this.

Once again, thank you for your direct impact on our lives, and we are extremely excited to see God use you, as his church, to lead people on a life-changing journey.  A church that will honour God together by growing as authentic Christ followers who are passionate in worship, disciplined in life, committed in relationships, bold in witness, and active in service.

We love you all and continue to thank God for all that he is doing in and through you.
