JHM and HSM

JHM (grades 6-8) and HSM (grades 9-12) is designed for students to have fun, experience God, and connect with friends and leaders. Each evening includes time for students to hang out, play games and hear music, learn, and grow deeper in their faith and relationships through LifeGroups. A typical night has four parts:
Hang Time – The evening starts off with time to hang out in the youth wing. This could include getting a drink or snack from our café, playing ping pong, pool, or air hockey, shooting hoops in the Gym, or simply sitting around a table catching up.
Connect Time – Following hang time, all of the students gather together in the youth auditorium to enjoy music and videos, play games, and worship together.
Teaching Time – During teaching time, the Jr. Highs go straight into their LifeGroups for fellowship in a small group. The Sr. Highs stay in the youth auditorium where they enjoy a talk that is relevant and engaging. These talks are designed to help students connect and experience God, whether they are investigating God for the first time, struggling in their relationship with God, or a “Sold Out” follower of Christ.

LifeGroups – After the teaching time, the Sr. Highs break into their LifeGroups, where they connect with others in the same grade and gender and talk about how they can apply what they just learned in their lives.

At various times during the year ROOTS also hosts action-packed themed nights, big ticket events, and block parties.

FrontLine
Every so often, DURING our normal weekly programming, we pause our small groups and come together as a big group to take part in a fun themed night. In the past, these themes have included Beach Party, Wipe Out, The Big Brawl, Something’s Fishy, Go Banana’s, Where’s Waldo, etc.

Big Ticket Events
Big ticket events are wild, action packed events that are spread over the year IN ADDITION to our normal weekly programming. In the past, these events have included Super Bowl Party, Christmas Banquet, Worship Under the Stars, Haunted Corn Maze, Drive In Movie Night, CSI Night, Cedar Point Trips, etc.

Block Party
Once a month, we take a break from our normal routine and we meet in our LifeGroups off the church property – in homes, at the bowling alley, in a restaurant, we might even challenge another LifeGroup to a game or use this night to serve our community. Regardless, Block Party is designed for our LifeGroups to grow and experience life together.

JHM and HSM is a time to celebrate life and connect with God through laughter, great music, videos, and challenging messages from God’s Word. Check out West Park Student Ministry this week, and bring a friend!
